Hello from the shop!

Just wanted to update everyone on how well things are going inside and outside of the shop! We have a great new group of hard working, enthusiastic members on the team and we’ve had a very busy and full schedule this quarter. The track was once again revamped by adding a new set of whoops, adjusting the track entrance and adding to the tire crawl as well. We had a great time on October 8^th for our annual Sponsorship Day! Thank you to everyone who came, and thank you to those who sponsor and support us, everything you do for us is greatly appreciated. It was awesome to see the parents and companies that support us stop by and enjoy themselves! At the moment there’s a good-sized group hard at work on the machines. RIT Baja SAE Announces 2009 Sponsorship Day

Rochester, NY- The Rochester Institute of Technology’s off-road racing team, RIT Baja SAE, has announced the date and location for the 2009 Sponsorship Day event.  Intended as a time for the team to thank sponsors and supporters, Sponsorship Day will allow sponsors to actually get in the car and experience first-hand the vehicles that their support helps to create.  Sponsorship Day will start at 10 AM on Saturday, October 17^th, in the RIT Baja SAE machine shop (room 78-1270 on RIT’s campus) and will also include a guided tour of our machine shop and a catered lunch in addition to the opportunity to drive the cars.

Baja SAE is a collegiate design competition sponsored and organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers featuring three races nationally and a number of international races.  RIT’s team is one of the foremost teams in the national competitions, and one of the only US teams that travels internationally to Baja races on other continents.
