Fall 2011 Update!

Hello from the shop!

Just wanted to update everyone on how well things are going inside and outside of the shop! We have a great new group of hard working, enthusiastic members on the team and we’ve had a very busy and full schedule this quarter. The track was once again revamped by adding a new set of whoops, adjusting the track entrance and adding to the tire crawl as well. We had a great time on October 8th for our annual Sponsorship Day! Thank you to everyone who came, and thank you to those who sponsor and support us, everything you do for us is greatly appreciated. It was awesome to see the parents and companies that support us stop by and enjoy themselves! At the moment there’s a good-sized group hard at work on the machines. More can be found on our Facebook!

Thank you for your continued support everyone!

First Tuesday Meeting of the Season

Tonight, RIT Baja had our first Tuesday meeting of the year, and it was great to see some familiar faces back in the shop.  We had a quick administative meeting which primiarily consisted of a discussion of New Member Day.  Scheduled for this coming Saturday, New Member Day is when we invite any member of the RIT student community to come out with RIT Baja and see wat we’re all about.  We run the cars, have a BBQ, and just in general have a great time- so, if you’re a student at RIT and you’re interested in Baja, come on over ot the shop (room 78-1270) around 10:30 on Saturday morning, and we’ll show you around.

After the admnistative meeting, the design team dove straight into a in-depth discussion of what we wanted to do this year, and how we wanted to do it.  Some really cool ideas and concepts got brought forward, and we have the oppurtunity to do some really awesome stuff this year.

A few hours later, the team emerged- a bit tired, but incredibly optimistic about the our direction and composition for the coming year. We have the right people in the right positions, and we are getting ready to build the best car we’ve ever built.  Keep your eyes on this blog for some sneak peaks at some of the really cool stuff going on behind the scenes at RIT Baja.

I’ll have a big update for you guys on Saturday about New Member Day- in the mean time, if you have any questions about RIT baja, please feel free to e-mail me at secretary@ritbaja.com.
