Progress in the shop

Hey all,

All is going well here at RIT Baja as we add up the hours in the shop and begin the sleepless nights before the first race. We’ve been gearing up for unveiling and the Alabama race. The frame’s coming together well, we’re working on our final fittings and welding. Also, driveline components are being finished and sent out to our awesome sponsors. Last but not least, the parts to manufacture suspension are coming together well.

Sad News

It is with great sadness that RIT Baja learned of the passing of Thomas Locke, the lab manager for the MMET machine shop, which is where RIT Baja calls home. Tom has been an integral part of the team for as long as any of us can remember, acting as friend, mentor, and advisor for the entire team. Never turning down an opportunity to help us, Tom also helped keep the shop a safe, clean, and well maintained environment for students to learn and work in. Tom leaves behind a legacy of helping and supporting students that will be impossible to match. He will be sorely missed.

Tom’s obituary can be seen here.
